They can loudly and definitively proclaim that domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse are unacceptable. With October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we must all recommit ourselves to preventing violence on college campuses, in the military, and in all facets of our society.

Yesterday, Congressman Garamendi advocated for the missions at Travis and Beale Air Force Bases as he participated in a meeting with other Members of the House and Senate Armed Services Committees to discuss the FY 2015 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). He also met with an Air Mobility Commander and convened the Air Mobility Caucus.

The hearing focused attention on H.R. 5270, the bipartisan Growing American Shipping Act or GAS Act, which would promote the export of liquefied natural gas (LNG) on U.S.-flag vessels. Witnesses at the hearing voiced support for the legislation and efforts to increase the use of U.S. flag ships in the foreign trade.
