Congressman John Garamendi today voted in favor of the modified National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).The new NDAA is significantly improved from the version the House voted on earlier in the year, and it includes provisions vital to maintaining the strength of our Armed Forces.... "This legislation puts personnel first and does right by Travis Air Force Base and other bases in Northern California."

"Allowing young adults to join their parents' health plan is also a great relief for loving moms and dads. I should know. My daughter is one of the 2.5 million young adults now insured through this important policy change."

"The missions at Travis and Beale Air Force Base are essential for maintaining a smart 21st century military that is highly mobile and equipped with the very best intelligence," Garamendi added. "The men and women at Travis and Beale are top flight. I am committed to the future success of these missions, which bolster our regional economy and are critical to our country’s national security."

"The MC-12 program is a critical component of our intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions, and the airmen at Beale have run the program with the professionalism and dedication our national security requires," Congressman Garamendi said. "There’s an old saying: if it’s not broke, don’t fix it. I urge the Armed Services Conference Committee to avoid a costly disruption and to keep the MC-12 program where it’s already working."
