This bipartisan legislation would lift a de facto prohibition on construction and repair of agricultural structures in areas designated by FEMA as flood risks. Under current law, areas designated as Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHA) generally require all new, expanded or repaired structures to be raised above potential flood level.

“Bashar al-Assad is responsible for a heinous attack which is wholly outside the norms of international behavior. Syria’s use of chemical weapons on innocent civilians is a violation of international law, Syria’s legal obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention, and UN Security Council Resolution 2118.
WASHINGTON, DC- Last week, Congressman Garamendi, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, joined Republican colleague Rep. Walter B. Jones (NC-3) to introduce H.R. 1666. This bipartisan legislation would ban further funding for operations in Afghanistan after 1 year unless Congress debates and passes legislation specifically approving continued military operations there.
