MARYSVILLE, CA – Today, Congressman John Garamendi (D-Yuba City, Fairfield, Davis ,CA) reconvened his Women’s Initiative Network (WIN), the 3^rd District’s Women’s Advisory Committee. Approximately 70 women participated in a wide-ranging roundtable discussion focused on health care access, mentorships, job opportunities, education, and more.

He started the meeting by noting that he had just come back from reading to two classrooms in Marysville for Read Across America Day.

Garamendi, the father to two public school teachers, read books to a preschool class at E Center Head Start and to Mrs. Devitto’s first grade class at Covillaud Elementary School.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Northern California Representatives Doug LaMalfa (R-CA) and John Garamendi (D-CA) announced the introduction of H.R. 1269, which will accelerate the federal review of Sites Reservoir and better position the project for funding under Proposition 1, the voter-approved California water bond designed to make the state’s water systems more resilient. The bill also authorizes the federal government to participate in construction of the project should it be found feasible.
