Garamendi and Jones give a bipartisan call for the President to "obtain Congressional authorization before ordering the use of military force in Syria."

Unlike the disastrous BDCP, which doesn’t create a drop of new water, Garamendi presented a plan that actually creates more water for the entire state.

“What a great day for Sutter and Butte counties! I’m glad the leaders of this community were able to come together in a unified voice to help keep our constituents safe from a preventable disaster,” Representative Garamendi said.

"On the one-year anniversary of the horrific terror attack at the Oak Creek Sikh Temple, we owe it to the victims to be more proactive in stopping future attacks. We know that senseless hate crimes are occurring, but we need better data on the scope of the problem. By accurately tracking hate crimes against American Sikhs and other at-risk communities, we’ll be able to better devote the resources and community intervention required to stamp out hate."

We are a nation of immigrants and a state of pioneers. As this study shows, comprehensive immigration reform will strengthen California’s economy, create jobs, and help establish needed normalcy for our vital agricultural sector.

“This compromise is the best of a bad situation. In the short term, given the makeup of this Congress, this was the best possible outcome for students and parents looking to pay for an education,” explained Congressman Garamendi. “College will be more affordable with this bill than without it, and that’s the bottom line.”

Since the Affordable Care Act was enacted, Californians with Medicare have saved $574 million on prescription drugs. In 2012 alone, 299,896 California residents saved over $184 million or an average of $609 per enrollee. Furthermore, in 2012 alone, 2,153,101 Californians with traditional Medicare saved money by using one or more free preventative services.
