UC Davis is conducting vitally important research to rise to the challenge of climate change by studying its effect on agriculture and our water system, and what we can do about it. Dr. Sperling at their Institute of Transportation Studies has produced monumental work in clean transportation, hydrogen fuel infrastructure, and research on how we can achieve a 100% renewable energy economy.

As the House Armed Services Committee sought $2.6 billion of unspecified funds to the Afghan National Security Forces, the Coast Guard has continuously had their budget reduced, jeopardizing their readiness and operational ability now and in the future.

Garamendi, a Member of the House Armed Services Committee, today voted for the FY 2014 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), because it supports men and women who work to defend our nation, and because it was improved during the amendments process.
