WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Congressman John Garamendi (D-CA) voted to pass the "Inflation Reduction Act of 2022" (H.R. 5376) in the U.S. House of Representatives. The legislation already passed the U.S. Senate and passed the House today by a vote of 220 to 207. The legislation provides the single largest investment to combat climate change ever, saves Americans an average of $220 in home energy costs each year, reduces inflation, lowers healthcare costs, and closes tax loopholes that giant corporations exploit to pay a lower tax rate than the middle-class.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Senators Alex Padilla and Dianne Feinstein (both D-Calif.) announced the introduction of legislation to expand the Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument to include approximately 3,925 acres of adjacent Bureau of Land Management-administered public lands in Lake County, California. It would also require the Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest Service to improve tribal engagement and co-management of the National Monument, including for historic preservation, archaeological sites, and forest health.
