Our sports leagues have a megaphone that reaches millions of fans and broadcasts to every corner of America. They can loudly and definitively proclaim that domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse are unacceptable. With October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we must all recommit ourselves to preventing violence on college campuses, in the military, and in all facets of our society.

Vendors in attendance provided information and advice on health care, veterans services, senior services, help for lower income families, educational opportunities, job placement, and more.

This bipartisan job training bill will help American workers sharpen their skills to land secure middle-class employment at the businesses that need their skills,” said Congressman Garamendi.

"These events are always bittersweet. My staff and I are happy to do all we can to help people get a boost in their job search, but it's disheartening to know just how great the demand is for these opportunities. I've already given my staff instructions to begin planning the next one."

"No one should be priced out of an education. Student loan debt is out of control in America. It's preventing students with loans from taking the entrepreneurial risks that jumpstart economies, stopping students from taking public service jobs, and causing many students to think twice before enrolling in the college education that could forever improve life for them and their families."

Garamendi led a letter to the Agriculture Secretary urging him to designate the Bay-Delta watershed as a critical conservation area. This will make private companies, agriculture groups, universities, non-profit organizations, local and tribal governments and others eligible for conservation funding.
