This budget provides a balanced path that strengthens our economy while responsibly reducing the deficit. There is much to admire in this plan, but I have deep reservations about the proposed change in Social Security policy.

“Pay discrimination is unjust. It tears at our families and our communities. Nationwide, women earn only 77 cents for every dollar earned by men, despite the fact that the Equal Pay Act will mark its 50th anniversary in June."

Continuing a listening tour with major industries in the 3rd District, Congressman Garamendi today met with his Manufacturing Advisory Committee, with close to 40 leaders from industry, labor, national labs, academia, and state and federal agencies in attendance.

During the 90 minute conversation with close to 60 farmers and agriculturalists, issues as wide ranging as agriculture research, California water policy, organic crops, food assistance, regulations, immigration, and flood protection were raised
