Washington, DC – Today, Rep. John Garamendi (D-CA) voted to pass the Heroes Act, legislation to address the continued public health crisis and provide desperately needed support for struggling families and essential workers. The bill passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 208-199. The legislation includes funds for testing and tracing measures, key support for frontline workers, and strengthened assistance for the American people. Rep. Garamendi also released a new detailed estimate of the direct benefits that the Heroes Act would provide to California and local communities.

Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Garamendi returned to Washington, D.C. and voted to pass the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act, a $484 billion emergency relief package to support small businesses, hospitals and health care workers, and to expand testing for COVID-19 nationwide. The legislation passed the House by a bipartisan vote of 388-5-1 and will head to the President's desk to be signed into law.
