WASHINGTON, DC-Today, Congressman John Garamendi (D-CA) introduced the "Fair COLA for Seniors Act of 2023" (H.R.716). This bill would require Social Security to use the Consumer Price Index for the Elderly (CPI-E) to calculate a fairer cost of living adjustment (COLA) for seniors.

VALLEJO, CA – This week, Reps. John Garamendi (CA-08) and Mike Thompson (CA-04) presented a $2 million check to officials from Solano County Transit (SolTrans) for the 100 percent Battery Electric Commuter Coaches project. This funding was secured in the Fiscal Year 2023 government funding bill.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Congressman John Garamendi (D-CA03) led a letter to PBF Energy demanding information and cooperation with an investigation into the company's subsidiary refinery in Martinez for an accidental release of hazardous materials into the community on Thanksgiving. Representatives Mark DeSaulnier (D-CA11) and Mike Thompson (D-CA05) and Contra County Supervisor Federal Glover (District 5) joined Garamendi in sending the letter to Thomas Nimbley, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PBF Energy.
