WOODLAND, CA – Today, hundreds of jobseekers from the Delta and Sacramento Valley attended a job fair in Woodland hosted by the Office of Congressman John Garamendi. Over 80 regional employers currently hiring participated in the job fair, with well over 500 jobs available for participants to apply for.

A number of local businesses and civic organizations helped make the event a success, including America’s Job Center of California, Yolo County Workforce Investment Board, Yolo County One-Stop System, Woodland Chamber of Commerce, Davis Chamber of Commerce, West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce, Winters Chamber of Commerce, Woodland Community College, and California Employment Development Department.

“Hosting these job fairs is one of the most valuable things my office can do to improve the lives of my constituents. Each time I host one of these job fairs, I know that some families in my district walk away with renewed hope and the promise of a paycheck. That’s a great feeling,” Congressman Garamendi said.

In addition to the available job opportunities, the program featured a “Jobs Boot Camp” designed to give motivated jobseekers an added advantage in their job search through résumé review, developing a strategic job search plan, networking and interview skills training, and social media training.

The Office of Congressman Garamendi has hosted or participated in more than a dozen job fairs over the past two years. This is the second job fair Congressman Garamendi has hosted in Woodland. Another job fair hosted by Congressman Garamendi’s office is scheduled for Thursday, October 15 at 5253 Business Center Drive in Fairfield from 11 am to 2 pm.
