Garamendi Reads Before Two Marysville Classrooms for Read Across America Day

March 3, 2017

MARYSVILLE, CA – Today, Congressman John Garamendi (D-Yuba City, Fairfield, Davis, CA) read stories to students in two classrooms in Marysville to commemorate Read Across America Day. Garamendi, the father to two public school teachers, read books to a preschool class at E Center Head Start and to Mrs. Devitto’s first grade class at Covillaud Elementary School.

“When students read and read often, they perform better in school and begin a lifetime of curiosity and exploration. Read Across America Day reminds us that it’s never too early to fall into a good book, Congressman Garamendi said. “Thank you to everyone at E Center Head Start and Covillaud Elementary School for the invitation. I was very impressed with the services you provide our students and the passion you bring to the classroom.”

Read Across America Events occur around the country on or near Dr. Seuss’s March 2nd birthday.
