Dozens Attend Congressman Garamendi’s Yuba City District Office Open House
YUBA CITY, CA – Joined by his district staff and dozens of constituents and community leaders, Congressman John Garamendi (D-Yuba City, CA) hosted an open house on Friday at his Yuba City District Office. The event was designed to invite more constituents to have one-on-one interactions with Congressman Garamendi, to learn what services are available at the district office, and to make constituent caseworkers available to constituents who need assistance with a federal agency. Congressman Garamendi’s office currently has hundreds of active cases relating to Social Security, Medicare, immigration, the IRS, the VA, and other federal agencies.
“I held this event to meet with constituents and to hear what’s on their mind,” said Congressman Garamendi. “After hosting ten in-person town halls in the district and several telephone town halls earlier this year, with this open house I was happy to make myself available to constituents in a less formal and more interactive setting.”
In February and March, Congressman Garamendi hosted town halls in Clearlake, Davis, Dixon, Fairfield/Suisun, Marysville, Orland, Rio Vista, Vacaville, Williams, and Woodland. He also hosted a job fair in Fairfield in December and Women in the Workforce Symposium earlier this month.
Additional open houses are scheduled at the Fairfield District Office on Wednesday, April 23rd from noon to 2 pm at 609 Jefferson Street and at the Davis District Office on Thursday, May 15th from 9 am to 11 am at 412 G Street. Additional job fairs are scheduled in Yuba City on Thursday, April 10th from 10 am to 2 pm at the Veterans Memorial Hall, 1425 Veterans Memorial Circle and in Woodland on Monday, June 16th from 10 am to 3 pm at the Yolo County ESS Department, 25 N. Cottonwood Street. A Lake County Social Services Fair is scheduled on Monday, August 4th from 10 am to 3 pm at the Moose Lodge at 15900 E Highway 20 in Clearlake Oaks.
