Congressman Garamendi to be First Member of Congress to Host Live Mobile Video Town Hall
Visible Vote’s Free and Innovative Software Connects Members of Congress to Constituents through Live Streaming Video on Smartphones and Facebook
Congressman John Garamendi (D-Walnut Creek, CA) on Tuesday, February 8th at 6:15 PM PST/9:15 PM EST will become the first Member of Congress to host a mobile video town hall.
Through Visible Vote’s free application for Facebook and smartphones (Apple iPhone, Google Android, and Blackberry), followers of the Congressman can view live mobile video on their smartphones and ask the Congressman questions during his real-time town hall. 20,000 residents from the 10th Congressional District will also be invited to listen in and ask the Congressman questions in a simultaneous telephone town hall.

A free application for smartphones, Facebook and the Web, Visible Vote connects voters to lawmakers and empowers users with the information needed to elect officials that best represent their interests. Through the application, users can participate in the political process by voting on past and pending legislation, accessing and comparing their votes to their legislators’ records, and submitting their preferences and messages directly to their representatives’ offices. In turn, Congressional offices can use the application to communicate directly with constituents, share information and polls, collect voter feedback, and host live video town halls.
