Rep. Garamendi Appointed To Key Transportation And Infrastructure Subcommittees
Garamendi to serve on four subcommittees that are critical for California’s transportation and infrastructure needs
WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Congressman John Garamendi (D-CA), a senior member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, was appointed by his Congressional colleagues to four subcommittees on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure that are critical for northern California and the Sacramento Valley's transportation needs.
With these key Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee assignments, Congressman Garamendi will continue working to modernize our nation's outdated infrastructure, address the climate crisis, make communities more resilient to natural disasters, and advance the Biden Administration's "Build Back Better" plan.
"The Biden Administration has made it clear that it plans to develop a historic infrastructure package with Congress," Garamendi said. "With these subcommittee assignments, I will be working with the Biden Administration and my Congressional colleagues to fight for California's transportation needs. I'll work to advance my ‘Buy American' and ‘Make it in America' agendas to create thousands of new middle-class jobs by rebuilding our nation's crumbling infrastructure with American materials and workers.
"I have been fighting to modernize our nation's outdated infrastructure and transportation systems from my first day in Congress. We are now in the strongest possible position to deliver historic investments that will strengthen our middle-class and bring our nation's transportation system into the 21st Century. I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to achieve this shared goal," Garamendi concluded.
