Garamendi Presents Checks to Improve Transportation and Healthcare Services in Solano County
Garamendi Secured $4 Million for a Transportation Project and $1 million for a Healthcare Project in Solano County
SOLANO COUNTY, CA—Today, Congressman John Garamendi (D-CA) presented checks to Solano County Family Health Services and Solano Transportation Authority with new federal funding he secured through the Fiscal Year 2023 government funding bill to support their work in the community.
First, Garamendi presented a $4 million check for the Jepson Parkway Vanden Road Complete Streets Project, which will transform a section of roadway near Travis Air Force Base to serve as a reliever route for I-80 and reduce congestion.
Next, Garamendi presented a $1 million check to perform an electronic health record system upgrade at Solano County Family Health Services. This program serves the largest number of Medi-Cal patients in Solano County (30,852 patients) and will significantly improve the quality of care they receive.
“The people of Solano County deserve every resource available to support them and make their lives easier,” Garamendi said. “I focus every day of my life in Washington on delivering positive change and new resources to support our communities.
“I was pleased to work with Solano Transportation Authority and Solano County Family Health Services to secure this new federal support to reduce traffic congestion on I-80 and improve healthcare services throughout Solano County. I will now work to ensure every dollar is used to help Solano County families. I look forward to seeing the good these new resources will do for our community,” Garamendi concluded.
