Garamendi Welcomes Submissions for High School Congressional Art Competition

DAVIS, CA - The Office of Congressman John Garamendi is now accepting submissions for the annual Congressional Art Competition. The deadline to submit artwork is April 24, 2015 at 5PM.

All high school students residing in California’s 3rd Congressional District, which includes all or portions of Colusa, Glenn, Lake, Sacramento, Solano, Sutter, Yolo, and Yuba counties, are invited to submit their original artwork. Since 1982, the Congressional Art Competition has provided an opportunity for members of Congress to encourage and recognize the artistic talents of young constituents. The winning piece from California’s 3rd Congressional District will be displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol Building. The artist and one guest will also be invited to Washington, DC to attend an awards ceremony. Artwork receiving special merit recognition will be displayed in a district office.

Artwork entered may be up to 28 inches by 28 inches and up to 4 inches in depth. All entries must be original in concept, design and execution.
