PRINCETON, CA – This morning, Congressman Garamendi (D-Fairfield, Yuba City, Davis, CA), visited Princeton Elementary in Colusa County, where he spoke to 75 students ranging from Kindergarten through 6th Grade. The visit came after Ms. Sheila Skemp’s 4th and 5th grade classes wrote letters to the Congressman requesting a flag that had been flown over the U.S. Capitol.

“In Congress, we read every letter, and when we got all the letters from Ms. Skemp’s 4th and 5th grade classes, I knew I would try and fit it in my schedule,” Congressman Garamendi said. “It’s clear the teachers and administration are kind hearted and focused, and it was great to meet so many enthusiastic students.”

Before presenting the flag that flew over the U.S. Capitol, Congressman Garamendi gave a brief presentation on how bills become laws. The class was surprisingly divided on one student’s proposal to give everyone a free kitten.
